Shaving Cream Sensory

Hi there! The weather here in Virginia has been a mix of too cold to leave the house, way too rainy for park visits plus it’s flu season! This means that I’ve had to really search for ideas to break up the monotony of spending everyday inside. Well, a very easy idea is SHAVING CREAM!

I’ve done a shaving cream post before, C & I mixed shaving cream and sand. We used the “kinetic sand” inside as an easy activity, followed by an easy cleanup. This time we stuck with just shaving cream, but added in food coloring.

This is such an easy & versatile activity! Put the shaving cream in a ziplock bag and let your little one go crazy, but the mess is contained. Add in some Elmer’s glue and paper and the shaving cream will dry & stay foamy on the paper. Or mix sand & shaving cream and make kinetic sand! So easy and so versatile! *

Post in the comments how you used shaving cream to plan an activity with your children!

*Don’t forget this is an easy science lesson! We practiced mixing colors and learning what new color forms when we combine colors. Such an easy way to incorporate science into the day.
